Feature ARticle: The plan, boss! The plan!
Developing a successful sales and marketing plan
When developing a marketing plan, it's best to spend a lot of time thinking about it and researching various avenues and then let it go and see what sticks.
Before you 'let it go', there are a few questions your investigation needs to answer such as:
- What does success look like?
- What are our customers like?
- What are our biggest business, sales and marketing pains?
- What's our competition doing to achieve their goals?
Once you've got a pretty good beat on the situation, it's time to let it all go. Think laterally and strategically about what might work and hone in on the correct course of action. Don't forget to include an explanation for why this plan will work.
To make sure you don't miss anything here's a simplified plan outline:
- Executive Summary (the last thing you write)
- The Challenge
- The Situation
- The Strategy
- The Tactics
- Goals/Projections/Dates
- Budget
- Why this will work (the conclusion)
